'Kimia' series depicts "Iranian Hero of Resistance"

ifilm hit series 'Kimia' features one of the most influential figures in the Iraq-Iran war, making every Iranian citizen proud upon hearing his name.

Martyr Mohammad Jahan-Ara,  also known as "Iranian Hero of Resistance", is the symbol of resistance against the Iraq invasion before the liberation of Khorramshahr. 

On May 24, 1982, the Iranian city of Khorramshahr was liberated from Iraqi forces. The city had been occupied by forces loyal to Saddam Hussein. Jahanara is remembered in Iran for his heroic resistance against enemy forces.

A memorable song titled, "You were not there, Mamad," pays tribute to the national hero. You can hear the song in the video attached. 

'Kimia' is the story of a woman’s life during extremely important events in Iran’s contemporary history. Kimia Parsa was a young girl living in the city of Khoramshahr during the reign of the country’s former king, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The series follows her as she experiences the Islamic Revolution in Iran.

In the video taken from 'Kimia', famed Iranian actor Hamed Behdad is shown playing the role of Martyr Jahanara.
